Diploma in Art Teaching & Design
This course aims to empower participants with a sound knowledge and skills in the learning of Art Teaching and Design and will equip students with the concepts and fundamentals of Art pedagogies in order to impart the requisite knowledge and skills to their mentees. The students will be exposed to a full range of Art management skills that is useful to succeed in today's competitive and creative Art environment. This course is ideal for students who wish to enhance their career or for those who wish to learn more about Art Teaching & Design management.
This course (Full-time/Part-time) consists of 8 modules. All modules will be completed within 8 months
There are 8 modules in total:
1. Drawing Fundamentals； 2. Appreciation of Art Teaching through the eyes of a child；
3. Art Making Through Drama； 4. Drawing and Digital Media；
5. Visual Representation & Expression； 6. New Contemporary Chinese Arts and Design；
7. Art Management & Teaching Methodology； 8. Art Teaching & Educational Psychology
There will be 6 hours of lesson time each week（Part-time）；
There will be 5 lessons x 3 hours each week（Full-time）；
As for the blended mode of delivery, it will consist of 4 months of online learning delivered via our in house www.nanyang.cloud and 4 months of face to face classroom teaching in Singapore.
Schedule of the classes will be planned to suit the course's needs. There will be no classes conducted during public holidays and school holidays.
Teacher Students Ratio 1: <22
* Obtain at least C6 in any 3 GCE O Level subjects or at least 9 years of formal education (particularly China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, local and other), or equivalent or pass the placement test of Nanyang Asia College.
* English Language with IELTS 5.5 & above; or at least a C6 in GCE O Level English; or passed the language proficiency test of Nanyang Asia College or equivalent.
Paper 1: Section A 20 MCQ (Open Book) (each answer = 2 marks= 40 marks in total )
Paper 2: Section B (50 marks in total) (Closed Book)
Essay Questions: To answer 2 out of 3 questions (each answer=25marks=50 marks in total)
Attendance/Presentation: 10 marks
Course Completion & Certification:
Upon completion of the 8 modules, those who fulfilled the required attendance and pass all the assessments will be awarded a Diploma in Art Teaching & Design by Nanyang Asia College.
Attendance must not less than 75%（part-time）90%（full-time） and not absent without valid reason for more than 7 consecutive days.
Armed with the award, the graduates can enhance their chances to actively look for a job, either with an “S” Pass or Work Permit and find a livelihood in Singapore with a stable monthly income of up to S$2,000 and above.

Miscellaneous Fees refer to any non-compulsory fees which the students pay only when applicable. Such fees are normally collected by the PEI when the need arises
There are two semesters per year. Semester 1 runs from April to September (6 months); on the other hand, semester 2 runs from October to March (6 months). Depending on the student-applicant's level, some students may need to take both Semesters 1 and 2 to complete the whole course. A monthly assessment is also administered.
Students may join classes at any time in the year as long as they agree to the school's terms and conditions.
